We studied computer-aid, but It's studying from the viewpoint of computer, not human. In fact, Any lecture do not deal with human and even in humanistics. What this lecture and my 9th summary explain is “All media are extensions of some human faculty.”. For example, the wheel is an extension of the foot, the book is an extension of the eye, and clothing is an extension of the skin.

The six million dollar man is motivated by 'Cyborg', novel by martin Caidin. Steve Austin, the hero of Cyborg and The six million dollar man, have an accident while a space flight experiment, so he lost left eye, right arm, and legs. However, he is reborn as first bionic man by OSI(Office of scientific intelligence). This event make me write summary. The extension of the eye of Steve Austin let zooming in 20.1:1, and having night vision. The extension of the right arm let having power of bulldozer. The extension of the legs let running in 108km per hour, and jumping to 15ft.

The point in this TV movie and my summary is the artificial parts will have influence on everything with expansion of science.

As studying in lecture, there are many game that can be 'mod'ified by opening source in these days. Mod suggest many things, but my choice is Blizzard Entertainment.
Blizzard Entertainment develop many game that support mod for a long time. For example, Diablo (1996), Starcraft (1998). Not only allow they editing mpq files including game data, but also support editor.

Hellfire, Diablo's expansion, is developed by Sierra in particular, and hellfire don't support Battlenet. So, Hellfire is nearly mod, not expansion.
Starcraft's mod that is called Stardraft include Gundamcraft. Having highly a degree of completeness, that set the fashion.

Now, let's lay an eye on Diablo II. Diablo II's mod is clearly one of the best from the viewpoint of quantity and a degree of development. There are sites of special-handling mod and mod-development companys. ─ In interesting, by donation─

For another example, It's Elderscrolls. Elderscrolls' title menu has mod item. In other words, that support mod as add-on type. Mods are essential things, not additional things in this game.

시민쾌걸

시민쾌걸?

시민쾌걸은 1999년 3월 11일에 스포츠 일간지 ≪스포츠투데이≫의 창간과 함께 연재가 시작되어 2004년 10월 9일 연재가 종료되었다. 이는 5년 7개월이라는 최장기 신문 연재의 기록이다. 단행본으로는 32권이 발행되었지만 현재는 절판되엇다.

배경

시민쾌걸의 주인공은 20년동안 지각, 조퇴 한 번 없이 대기업에 근속하던 중년 가장 정의봉이다. 하지만 금융 대란의 여파로 명예퇴직을 당한 후 수상한 비디오 대여점을 헐값에 인수하게 된다. 비디오 테이프를 정리하던 중 '쾌걸 조로'라는 제목의 비디오테이프를 보곤, 비디오에 나오는 '쾌걸 조로 국제연맹 한국 지부' 홈페이지에 접속했다가 얼떨결에 조로 세트를 구매함을 계기로 쾌걸 조로 국제연맹 한국 지부 요원으로 임명된다. 정의봉은 쾌걸 조로 국제연맹 한국 지부 요원으로서 보이지 않는 곳에서 이런저런 사회 문제를 해결하는 일을 맡는다.

기술

정의봉 조로는 시민들의 궐기를 이끌어내내 범죄자를 혼내주는 '시민의 엄단'과 인공 방전으로 범죄자가 있는 지점에 번개를 떨어뜨리는 '민족의 특단'과 같은 필살기를 가지고 있다.

시대적 특징

경제 위기 이후 힘을 잃은 소시민 중년 가장이 다시 힘을 차려 나라를 지킨다는 배경 아래 만들어진 인물이다. 그러한 배경 때문에 나라를 지키는 영웅적인 면모와 더불어 외환 위기 이후 위축된 가장의 모습과 약해진 가부장제 위계를 대변하고 있다. 그래서 과거의 영웅을 따라한다거나 복면을 쓰고 정체를 숨기고 다니며 행동의 폭이 좁다. 또한 이 작품에서는 가면을 써 평소의 모습에서 탈피하는 영웅을 중년의 가장으로 잡음으로써 가정과 사회의 기대에 대한 탈출 욕구를 표출하고자 하였다. 즉, 이들이 자신의 역할에 안주하며 모험이나 탈출 욕구를 억제하여 소극적이 되어가는 사회적 현상을 뒤집고 싶은 것이다.

5th summary ㅡ Apple and Alan Turing

I knew Alan Turing before this week's lecture. How would I know? Alan Turing is person that I have already seen in the rumor about 'Apple' logo. As I knew in this week's lecture, Alan Turing is a homosexual, is operated on the chemical castration, and select being died by apple injected cyanide of potassium. The rumor's opinion is that the one-bited apple in 'Apple' logo is the apple of Alan Turing. Thinking that 'Apple' logo was rainbow-colored once, the opinion sound plausible.

However, that's not truth. Steven jobs worked in apple in fact and Rainbow-color mean expressable color of 'Apple II'. Definitly, the original logo is Newton holding apple under the tree, not rainbow-colored apple.

그러던 어느 날 태어난 기린이 짧은 목을 가지고 태어났다.

남들과 다른 외모에 많은 고민을 했지만
자신만의 신체적 특징을 잘 발휘하여중요한 역할을 맡게 되었고 자신감을 얻게 된다.

- 실제 기린과 달리 다리가 짧고 통통하다.

목이 짧은 게 가장 큰 특징이다.

겉으로 봐서는 기린같지 않다.

 전체적으로 말랐으며 둥근 무늬가 듬성듬성있다.

That's what analyzed bitmap images to convert bitmap images into vector images.

However, the world is wide in which there are many people.

So, This technology have not only existed on adobe program but also on web page.

4th summary

In this week, we learned social networks. social networks. What is social networks? Social networks' dictionany meaning is grounded in the observation that social actors are interdependent and that the links among them have important consequences for every individual. 

There is the company named "Netflix". Netflix offer the largest  online DVD rental service in United States. Why am I talking about this? Netflix has developed and maintained an recommendation system besed on rating and reviews by customers, similar to the system used by Amazon.com that I studied in this class. Furthermore, Netflix held tournament that offer a $1,000,000 prize and named Netflix prize(netflixprize.com). This tournament is for the movie recommendation algorithm that could beat its existing algorithm. My senior's rank is 687.

Netflix Prize is what social networks is.

Tim Berners-Lee is the great person invented world wide web(www, w3) but he only supposed something at first. The supposition is "all the information stored on computer everywhere were linked?". Then he designed world wide web. At first, world wide web made us write, publish and share document easily, but "people make media and then media make people.". In interview at 2005, he mentioned that he was surprised at watching people program in html. 

The first of all trying is only supposition. 

New media do not replace old media, they displace them. Simply, my friend(Bong-Seo, Kwon / An airman / 21 years old) have stressed that there is nothing that replace pocket book. His opinion is what people are experienced writing with a pen unconsciously. I agree with that. I think people are skilled drawing with a pen too. Furthermore, sometime I feel like writing letter not e-mail. This may not be only my thinking. 

URI, URN, ISO, IETF and SGML are only technology, so those left me cold. Then I do not write about that.

Character : 어린 시절은 매우 소심했으나 커가는 과정에서 자신감을 얻는다.
Profile :
어린 기린은 실제로 목이 짧으므로 모든 성장기를 거친 기린이다.
평범한 기린과 같이 밤색을 띤 갈색이다.
목은 짧으나 다리는 길며 목의 뼈도 다른 기린처럼 7개이다.
Story line :
환경오염이 심각해 높은 나무가 사라지고 기린들은 긴 목을 이용하여 따먹을 열매가 사라졌다.
그러던 어느 날 태어난 기린이 성장을 해서도 목이 길어지지 않았고
많은 놀림감이 되었다. 그로 인해 한때는 매우 소심하고 우울했다.
하지만 남들과는 다른 자신의 특징을 잘 발휘하여 기린 집단에서 아주 중요한 역할을 맞게 되어 자신감을 얻었다.
그와 동시에 다른 종인 친구도 많이 생겼다.

2. Proportion, Color
기린의 다리는 길고 말랐으나 케릭터화를 위해 짧고 통통하게 그린다. 목 역시도 짧아서 마치 한 마리 말을 보는 것 같고 실제로 주변에 말들도 무늬 빼고는 똑같이 생겼다. 점박이 무늬가 듬성듬성있되 징그럽지 않게 최대한 둥글둥글하고 적게 그려넣어야한다.

Za-lin을 아주 굴곡이 있고 가는 폰트로 쓰고 거기에 점을 그려넣을 것이다.

높은 나무가 사라진다고 해서 기린의 목이 짧아질 수가 없다.
자주 사용하는 기관은 더욱 발달하고 자주 사용하지 않은 기관은 퇴화한다는 리마르크의 용불용설에 의하면
자주 사용해 변화된 기관은 획득형질이라 유전되지 않는 특성이 있다.
결론적으로 짜린은 우연하게 태어났을 뿐이지만 환경오염과 연관지어 케릭터를 만들고 싶었다.

좋아하는 케릭터

윌 헌팅
Will hunting lived a unhappy childhood and in poverty. Also, his friends are labor class and have low job.
윌 헌팅은 불후한 어린 시절을 보냈고, 가난했다. 물론 그의 친구들도 노동자계층이며 비천한 일을 하며 산다.

Being not teached anything, He solve a difficult problem well.
하지만 그는 어떠한 교육을 받지 않았음에도 불구하고 어려운 문제를 잘 풀어낸다.

Finally, professor looking at him becomes a teacher of him. He is changed.
그를 지켜보던 교수가 윌 헌팅의 스승이 되면서 그는 점차 변하게 된다.

Even if, we is kept in an inhospitable environment, this character let us have hope.
비록 좋지 않은 환경에 갇혀있더라도 희망을 갖게 해준다.

In addition, this character let us feel pity and surprise.
연민을 느끼게 함과 동시에 놀라움을 유발시킨다.

손오공

His name is taken from Son O Kong of Journey to the west, His real name, Cacarrot, is taken from 'Carrot', and his famaily's names are taken from vegetables.

그의 이름은 서유기의 손오공에서 따왔고, 본명인 카카로트는 carrot에서 나왔다. 그의 가족의 이름은 모두 채소에서 따왔다.

Although His look is common, actually, he is alien attached a tail.

평범하게 생겼지만 알고보면 꼬리가 달린 외계인이다.

He has oriental atmosphere, but this comic includes SF element.

동양적인 분위기를 내면서 충분히 SF적인 요소를 포함하여 거부감을 느끼지 않게 하였다.

Saiyan, a combat race, are very strong and harsh. But, he got hurt when he was young, so he grow up gentlely and purely.

전투민족인 사이어인은 매우 강하며 난폭하지만, 어릴 때 머리를 다쳐서 착하고 순진하게 크게 되었다.

Thanks to this fact, He become a character of fighting comic loved all people.

그 덕분에 모든 사람이 좋아하는 격투만화의 케릭터가 되었다.

Ryuk is evil spirit bored the evil spirit world.

사신계가 따분하다고 느끼는 사신이다.

So, he droped death note that kill people of written name on purpose.

그래서 이름을 적으면 그 사람이 죽는 데스노트를 인간계에 일부러 떨어뜨린다.

He is delighted by following human and watching behavior of human.

데스노트를 주운 인간을 따라다니며 인간의 행동을 보고 즐거워한다.

Because he act for his pleasure, he don't side with anybody.

오직 자신의 즐거움만을 위해 행동하기 때문에 누구의 편도 아니다.

(Last week) The beginning of 'hyperlink' is 'Memex' system described in "As We May Think" written by Vannevar Bush. "As We May Think" first formulated the concept of hyperlink. Actually, Memex was not made. But, the import thing is what the concept of hyperlink present. Since that time, we have made an effort in half-century.
(This week) In 1965, Ted Nelson named the concept of Memex 'Hypertext'. That time is year of appearance of hypertext. And he planed the xanadu project including non-linear writing and word processor. The xanadu project corresponded the concept of hyperlink in today. In 1968, Douglas Engelbart published the concept mouse, hypertext, object addressing and dynamic file linking, shared-screen collaboration, communication over a network with audio and video interface at the Fall Joint Computer Conference in San Francisco.

In this week, we studied the two key points. One is what digital media connect or separate people. What is that mean? Word for word, media(Media is a plural of medium.) are intermediation that something
connect or separate something. For example, somebody's strong desire to draw is connect expression by egg white. That's simply 'media'. And the other is what technologies embody social, political, cultural,
economic and philosophical ideas and relationships. Assume that one murder case is happened and murderer is a ex-baseball player, news present in society field and sports field. Like this, do not limit technology to technology.We also read "As we may think" that written by Vannevar Bush. What Vannevar Bush is MIT professor is not important. Vannevar Bush's thinking forecast 60 years hence. His thinking is so fast, that economical backing is not follwing. The number of people feeling necessity can't jump economical backing consumed by the development of technology. But, Vannevar bush continueously research and finally imagine memex, new system. He is not quit. He think new type of encyclopedia alike today's WWW.
